Golden Week: Time to start planning?

Comprising of 4 national holidays (Showa Day, Constitution Day, Greenery Day and Children's Day) over the last few days of April and first week of May, Golden Week is traditionally one of the busiest, if not the busiest, travel seasons here in Japan.

If you're planning to travel in Japan or abroad, it is never too early to start booking transportation and hotels. If your travel plans are set for a tour around Japan, hopefully our eok.jp Travel in Japan selections can be of some help from short trips to the onsen of Hakone, intriguing Nagasaki and even a whirlwind tour of Sapporo -feel free to extend the author's schedule on this one though!

GOSS, Champagne and Wine Bar in Ginza, Tokyo

GOSS is a modest-sized Champagne and wine bar. Its superb styling creates a cosmopolitan and open yet respectful atmosphere. You will find many relaxed, well-dressed people simply having a good time, smiling and talking freely in the central corridor close to the bar and wine dispenser where most of the action is - this is not always the case in Ginza. At the same time the little bar will not deprive you, if you desire a low-key perch to stand at. Just make your way to one of the private counters in the corners where the location and dimmed lights will provide you with the privacy you seek. In a way the bar is a gallery for wine. Wine tasting here is both easy and fun.
