Sanuki Udon (Kagawa)
Udon, a thick noodle made from wheat-flour, is renowned in Kagawa for its strong body and smooth texture. They are served with a variety of toppings such as seafood or deep fried vegetables.

Katsuo no Tataki (Kochi)
Bonito (also called skipjack tuna) is thinly sliced and mixed with chopped leeks and vinegar.

Shikoku Events / Festivals

Awa-Odori Folk Dance Festival (Tokushima)
Held in mid August this festival dates back to 1587 and features traditional folkdances performed by groups of men and women, who parade through the city while dancing to music played on drums and flutes.

Warei Taisai & Uwajima Ushi-Oni Festivals (Ehime)
Held in late July at theWarei-jinja Shrine in Uwajima City, the festival boasts the parading of portable shrines through the river waters using traditional torches for guidance.
