Tips for Night-clubbing in Tokyo, Japan
Tokyo Nightlife - Party All Night!
Shibuya (along with Ebisu and Daikanyama) has also become the latest centre of Tokyo’s clubbing scene. International and Japanese DJs are regular features at these clubs and keeping track of what is on where can be a bit daunting. Fortunately, one of Tokyo’s best clubbing resources - cyberjapan.tv has event calendars in English as well as good maps and useful links.
Tips for Night-clubbing in Tokyo
Open All Night
Most events and clubs go until 5 or 6am. No need to worry about catching the last train (midnight to 1am depending on the line). Join the revelers and stay up until the first train. The Yamanote tends to start just before 5am giving the perfect excuse (if needed) to party all night.
No More Last Calls
Most venues keep the taps flowing until closing time so no need to guzzle down a pitcher at 2:30am.
Cover Charge
Most venues and events will run around 3,000 yen per person which will usually include 1 or 2 free drinks to help start the night. Of course there are other events which are in the 1,500 yen range. These can be found mainly in Shibuya.
Over 20 Door Policy
All events and venues have a strict door policy and you must be over 20 and have a valid photo ID to prove it.
