The Peninsula Spa by ESPA, Luxurious Spa Treatments in The Peninsula Tokyo

The Peninsula Spa by ESPA is Japan's first branded ESPA spa. ESPA has created exclusive treatments and products tailored for Peninsula guests, and ESPA-branded products are the sole product line offered. The treatments draw upon Eastern and Western wellness and relaxation philosophies, emphasizing a back-to-basics approach with authentic treatments delivered by highly trained therapists.

The Peninsula Spa by ESPA occupies the sixth floor of the hotel with a spa reception area, eight treatment rooms, manicure and pedicure salon and separate changing, relaxation and Thermal Suite areas for men and women. Thermal Suites offer crystal steam rooms, dry saunas, aromatherapy experience showers and shaved ice fountains.

Designed by Japanese interior designer Yukio Hashimoto, The Peninsula Spa by ESPA is feminine and soft. Using warm earthy tones of gold and chocolate, beige marble, dark woods, “Aji-ishi” Japanese granite stone from Kagawa Prefecture and “washi” paper light fixtures, a perfect balance of Japanese influence and contemporary flair are fused.

Each of the eight state-of-the-art treatment rooms offer private showers, Japanese yukimi shoji screens, natural light and the world’s first Clodagh Gemini fully automated treatment beds. All treatments may be performed in each room, eliminating the problem of reserving a treatment based on availability of a particular room. This combined with all therapists trained to perform every treatment offered, leaves only the idea of reserving “time” versus a specific treatment.
